WELCOME TO
THE FLORIDA HEALTHCARE ENGINEERING ASSOCIATION
The Florida Healthcare Engineering Association (FHEA), an autonomous chapter of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE), is composed of members employed in a Florida healthcare related facility or system. The FHEA membership is diverse and includes those with supervisory, management, or administrative responsibilities. Full membership also includes those employed in plant operations, plant engineering, design/construction, security, safety, clinical engineering, or telecommunications. Representatives from companies that provide products and services which support healthcare design, construction, operation, and maintenance are welcome to join the FHEA as Supporting Members.
Our objectives, as stated in the FHEA Mission Statement, are to promote the recognition of the professional role of healthcare engineers, to assist with the professional development of our membership, and to provide a platform for networking and communication for the purpose of exchanging information, ideas, and experiences. The continuous education of our members is our primary mission.
As FHEA State President for the 2025-2026 term, the Board of Directors, staff, and I will be committed to providing value to you by providing the education you need to stay competent in our field and the CEUs you need to maintain your certifications. We will be offering opportunities to interact with and learn from nationally recognized healthcare engineering professionals from around the country at state FHEA conferences, seminars, webinars, workshops, trade shows, training programs, and district events.
Our quarterly publication, The Whistle, is a great resource for all members to learn about the activities and events of the organization. In each edition, you will find industry-related articles that include engineering, code compliance, and other related content. The FHEA is always seeking submittals from industry professionals, so if you would like to write an article, please contact the FHEA at info@fhea.org.
In closing, I encourage all members to become active participants of the FHEA. Please begin by attending your district meetings, as well as the FHEA Trade Show & Annual Educational Conference, and our FHEA Fall Expo & Educational Conference. All of the opportunities the FHEA offers are ideal venues to receive education, network with other healthcare industry related professionals, and improve your knowledge. Lastly, please be a recruiter for the FHEA by asking others in your professional network to join our organization. The combined experience, education, and knowledge are the characteristics that have made the FHEA successful for over 60 years.
