The Florida Healthcare Engineering Association is the professional association of Florida’s healthcare facility managers and engineers.  Healthcare engineering is practiced in a highly regulated environment that calls for specialized training and experience. FHEA aids its members by providing:

 

 • Educational opportunities on a state, district, and individual level

• Professional exchange and networking

• Up-to-date resources for maintaining codes & standards compliance

• Credentialing - establishment of professional standards


FHEA has established four categories of membership based on where you work and your role.  Please review the descriptions carefully to ensure you select the correct membership level. 

 

Full or Associate Members

Dues $30 (all memberships expire one year from joining)
  • directly employed by a healthcare facility
Full membership in this association shall be available to those individuals who are actively employed in a Florida healthcare related facility who have supervisory, management or administrative responsibilities for healthcare facility operations.  May vote, hold office, and serve on or chair a committee.
 
Associate Membership in this association shall be available to those individuals who are actively employed in a Florida healthcare related facility who hold positions in departments that relate to healthcare facilities operations such as but not limited to plant operations, plant engineering, design/construction, security, safety, clinical engineering or telecommunications.  May serve on committees but not vote or hold office. Associate membership is not for vendors, suppliers, contractors, or consultants.

Educational Members
​Dues $10 (all memberships expire one year from joining)

Educator and Student Membership in this association shall be available to full-time educators teaching courses related to any discipline represented by the FHEA and to (non-working) college students or (non-working) vocational students taking course work related to any discipline represented by the FHEA.  May not vote or hold office.
 

Supporting Member

Dues $50 (all memberships expire one year from joining)
  • representing a company that provides products or services
Supporting membership in this association shall be available to those individuals who represent firms which provide products and/or services to Florida healthcare facilities, i.e., representatives of manufacturers, vendors, contractors, distributors, registered architects, professional engineers and consultants.  May serve on committees but not vote or hold office.​​
 
Membership benefits:
  • Provide support to FHEA’s ongoing educational programs
  • Identification as a provider of products and/or services specific to healthcare facility design/build, operation, maintenance, or compliance
  • Access to district meetings, including educational programs and networking
  • Initial listing in and subscription to FHEA quarterly publication, the Whistle
  • Full listing in FHEA Directory of Supporting Members available to FHEA members online directory
  • Supporting member companies are allowed to participate as an exhibitor and/or sponsor at the FHEA Spring Meeting & FHEA Trade Show & Annual Meeting.
